We are very proud to share a recent success story from our Indian grassroots partner, Odanadi Seva Trust. On October 21st 2021, Odanadi launched a rescue mission which saved a young girl from being sold into slavery.
Madhu is a bright 16-year-old who enjoys studying in school. A trafficking gang member took up work in her father’s chicken stall in order to become closer and orchestrate a relationship with her. After gaining the family’s trust, the gang member arranged a trip for the two of them to travel to Madikeri, Karnataka. In this city, hundreds of kilometres away from her family, the trafficking criminals had planned to sell Madhu into slavery. From the outskirts of the city, Odanadi intercepted the gang member and Madhu. Thanks to Odanadi’s rescue operation, the trafficking gang member was arrested, and Madhu was saved from a future of abuse. Madhu is now back in school and continuing her studies.
The funds raised from Yoga Stops Traffick support our Indian grassroots partner’s crucial anti human trafficking work. If you would like to support this work, please consider making a donation or signing up to Yoga Stops Traffick 2022.
