Yoga Stops Traffick is lucky to have Rach Cox from Om and Bass as one of our biggest partners – supporting the Yoga Stops Traffick campaign with events year-round, including yoga events, comedy nights and at the Om and Bass Festival happening 8th-10th September 2023. The single most fun and down to earth, inclusive, ethical and full vibes wellness festival on planet earth!
When did yoga become a part of your life?
I started doing yoga twenty years ago and it has been a part of my life ever since.
Is there a significant theme that brings the Om and Bass community together?
Yes. Equality – Being down-to-earth – and keeping it real.
Is there a common misconception people make about the yoga community?
Yes – people think yoga is to do with fitness and beauty. But yoga is an act of compassion, both for yourself and others and all living creatures.
You are one, if not, THE biggest supporter of Yoga Stops Traffick – thank you and what motivates you to keep supporting the campaign?
Firstly, if you do anything with yoga then you should be doing something to pay back to the motherland, otherwise it is cultural appropriation which I am very much against. Secondly, human trafficking is an issue that gets overlooked and brushed under the carpet – but this needs to change. It cannot be ignored. It is a critical issue that needs to be addressed.
Ultimately – yoga is activism.
Finally, we’d like to say a huge thank you to you for supporting YST 2023! Do you have a message for everyone taking part in Yoga Stops Traffick? Keep supporting – it is so important.
